To celebrate International Jazz Day on April 30, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold a series of jazz workshops on the same day and large-scale jazz marathon concerts from day to night on May 1.
 
     Audiences will be able to appreciate jazz music from different origins and in varying styles and forms of presentation in one go. The performers are highly acclaimed overseas and local jazz musicians and ensembles, including Nils Landgren Funk Unit, Melissa Aldana, Alex Sipiagin, Hendrik Meurkens, Max De Aloe, Mokhtar Samba, Eugene Pao, Jun Kung, C Y Leo, Teriver Cheung and In One Stroke. An autograph zone, a photo zone and a food and beverage zone will be set up, allowing jazz lovers to enjoy all-day fun inside and outside the arena.      In November 2011 the UNESCO General Conference proclaimed April 30 as International Jazz Day to bring the world together in celebration of the art of jazz and its significance. According to UNECSO, jazz is "a force for peace, unity, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people".
