Tai O temporary shelters and Transit Centre opened

     The Islands District Office (IDO) announces that, the temporary shelters at the Tai O Rural Committee Office, the Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association Tai O Community Work Office on the ground floor of Lung Tin Shopping Centre as well as the Lung Tin Transit Centre have been opened for residents in need. Residents who need to stay at the Lung Tin Transit Centre may register at the Lung Tin Estate Office. In addition, IDO will also arrange coaches for residents in need to move to temporary shelters at Tung Chung Community Hall or Mui Wo Sports Centre as appropriate.

     The Police, the Fire Services Department and the Civil Aid Service personnel will help the affected residents, if needed, to move to the temporary shelters or other safe locations.

     Residents in need are advised to take shelter at a safe place as soon as possible. The IDO will monitor the situation closely and co-ordinate with other government departments to render full assistance to residents in need.
