Second Greater Pearl River Delta Conservation Training Workshop begins in Hong Kong (with photo)

Addressing the opening ceremony, the Assistant Director of Leisure and Cultural Services (Heritage and Museums), Mr Chan Shing-wai, encouraged the trainees to seize the learning opportunity with a view to putting the acquired knowledge into practice, in order to make contributions to heritage conservation in the three places.
Specialists from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have been invited as speakers for the eight-day workshop, which has "Conservation of Wooden Relics" as its theme this year. Fifteen trainees from various GPRD cultural institutions will learn through classroom teaching, experience sharing, demonstrations, group discussions and field trips in Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao. The programme will end in Macao on October 25.
