Early closure of some LCSD facilities on Sunday

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (August 2) that in light of possible mass gathering activities in Tseung Kwan O and Central and Western District, the Hong Kong Velodrome, Hong Kong Velodrome Park Skatepark and Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground in Sai Kung District will be closed at 2pm while Kennedy Town Swimming Pool, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Swimming Pool, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Soccer Pitch, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Basketball Courts and Sheung Wan Sports Centre in Central and Western District will be closed at 3pm on Sunday (August 4).

Sports For All Day 2019 will be held this Sunday, with free recreation and sports programmes at designated sports centres in the 18 districts and opening of leisure facilities for public use free of charge. The LCSD will closely monitor the situation in the vicinity of its venues and take appropriate contingency measures to ensure the safety of venue users and members of the public. This may include the announcement of early closure of possible affected venues at short notice. The LCSD appeals to members of the public who plan to go to those venues with mass gathering activities nearby to take note of the latest announcements (www.lcsd.gov.hk/clpss/en/webApp/News.do) or contact the venue concerned.
