Enforcement operation against traffic offences in Eastern Police District (with photos)

     Eastern Police District launched a traffic enforcement operation against illegal parking and other traffic contraventions in September in a bid to ensure road safety and smooth traffic flow within the District.
      
     Mobile Video Team was deployed to target traffic offences under the "Selected Traffic Enforcement Priorities", such as unauthorised stopping and loading and unloading at bus stop and restricted zone, and parking at pedestrian crossings. Contravening drivers will be prosecuted. The Police may tow away offending vehicles to ensure public safety and resume smooth traffic flow.
      
     Between September 1 and 8, Eastern Police District issued a total of 3,973 fixed penalty tickets and nine traffic summons, and identified 114 offending vehicles for prosecution.
      
     The traffic enforcement operation is ongoing, Eastern Police District will continue to take stringent enforcement actions and work with local stakeholders to promote responsible and lawful driving behaviour.
