Mr Wong joined the Administrative Service in 1999. He has served in various bureaux including the former Constitutional Affairs Bureau; the former Health and Welfare Bureau; the former Economic Development and Labour Bureau; the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin; the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau; and the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau.
He was Principal Assistant Secretary for the Environment (Energy) before taking up the new post.
