LCSD's response to media enquiries

     In response to media enquiries regarding the handling of the driving recorder of a government vehicle near the works vehicle in the accident of a hydraulic platform in Sai Ying Pun on August 18, a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) gave the following response today (August 31):

     The LCSD is fully co-operating with the Hong Kong Police Force in the investigation. The driving recorder and memory card were passed to the Police on the day of the incident as requested by the Force.

     The Government is conducting an investigation into the incident to identify the cause of the accident with a view to preventing recurrence.
