Latest arrangements on SWD quarantine/holding centres

From tomorrow (December 14) onwards, the quarantine centre at Hall 3 of AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) will be converted into an HC. Hall 8 will commence operation as an HC on December 16, while Hall 10 will commence operation as another new HC starting from December 19.
The Hospital Authority will collaborate with private medical vendors to provide medical support for the three HCs. The number of beds, service targets and care teams of the three HCs are set out in the table below:

The SWD expresses heartfelt gratitude to Caregivers Alliance International Limited for enhancing the manpower to cope with the expansion arrangements of the HCs at AWE.
The Temporary Quarantine Centre at Halls 6, 9 and 11 of AWE will continue to receive elderly persons and persons with disabilities in residential care homes who are identified as close contacts. The HCs at Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Centre, Siu Sai Wan Sports Centre, Tin Shui Wai Sports Centre, Harbour Road Sports Centre, Choi Wing Road Sports Centre and Tsuen Wan West Sports Centre will continue to be in operation. The HC at Lung Sum Avenue Sports Centre will also come into operation tomorrow.
The SWD will continue to monitor the epidemic situation closely. If necessary, the SWD will liaise with relevant bureaux and departments to swiftly mobilise resources and prepare venues to activate other HCs or quarantine facilities.
