EMSD receives investigation report on power supply incident from Hongkong Electric

     The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (May 15) received from the Hongkong Electric Company, Limited (HEC) the investigation report on the power supply incident in some areas on Hong Kong Island on April 19, as requested by the Government, and is examining the content.

     The EMSD is very concerned about the incident and is examining the report in detail with an independent third-party expert, evaluating whether the identified cause is well founded and improvement measures are appropriate. HEC will be requested to make clarifications or provide further information if needed.

     The EMSD will continue to closely monitor HEC's implementation of all improvement measures as early as possible to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
