SWD urges public to be alert to fraudulent job advertisement

     The Social Welfare Department (SWD) today (April 10) alerted members of the public to a fraudulent job advertisement published on a social media platform.

     The fraudulent job advertisement concerned, carrying the SWD logo, was about recruitment of part-time and full-time staff for platform operation/co-ordination of activities. The SWD clarified that it had not published the job advertisement in question. The case has been reported to the Police. The social media platform has also been requested to follow up on the fraudulent advertisement.

     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to any suspicious websites or unknown persons via the advertisement should contact the Police. For enquiries, please call the SWD hotline at 2343 2255.
