Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

     Kerry Distribution Services (Hong Kong) Limited was fined $90,000 at the Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (January 9) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on October 19, 2023, at a marine deck in Tsim Sha Tsui. A delivery worker fell into the sea while transporting goods with a wooden dolly down a ramp at the marine deck. The delivery worker passed away on the same day.
