Care and Attention Home for the Aged Blind
Description
It provides residential care service for elders with visual impairment who suffer from poor health and/or physical/mental disabilities.
Eligibility for the Service
To be eligible for the service, an applicant should be:
- aged 60 or above;
- certified blind by medical officer of eye clinic/eye hospital or registered ophthalmologist;
- in need of personal care and attention / nursing care in daily living activities and are unable to live at home;
- unable to live independently in the community;
- free from infectious disease or illness; and
- mentally suitable for group living, including those suffering from dementia.
Application Procedures
Referrals are made by social workers to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the SWD. The application is free of charge.
Fees and Charges
- $1,660 per month for 50% disabled adults;
- $1,871 per month for 100% disabled adults / Disability Allowance recipients.
