The Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the e-Services Promotion Day this Saturday and Sunday (December 6 and 7) at the Hong Kong Central Library and 18 branch libraries. Members of the public are invited to attend to learn more about the latest library e-resources and mobile apps. Admission is free.
The HKPL has developed a range of e-services to provide a "library without walls" that meets public demand for information and lifelong learning. The HKPL's e-services, which provide a "library at your fingertips", include due date reminders on borrowed items, videos on past seminars organised by the HKPL, electronic books available online for reading anytime and anywhere, and more.
During the promotion day, library staff will demonstrate how to search for and read electronic books and multimedia materials on the library website. Participants may also join a quiz or download the apps via smartphones or tablets to redeem a souvenir while stocks last.
